Like A Pyramid
Finally. The first CD I bought in 2010!!! That's saying a lot because the first half of this year was totally crap. Awesome album. Powerful vocals!!! Do check out the debut album and support Charice! :)

Penning Something
Came up with a verse of a song during my lecture today. Haha. Wow, my first time penning a song of my own! And I have a melody in mind too! But the pre-chorus and chorus haven't quite settled yet. But I'll share the first verse with you guys! It's not anything groundbreaking, but something people can relate to. Title TBC.
You broke my heart
Tore it apart
And you left me
down and weary
Said goodbye
And I can't try
To keep you with me
Why'd you leave me
(...to be continued)
These lyrics just came to my mind in like a few minutes. Penning songs are so fun. Haha.

Affinity
I always tell myself, whatever that happens, good or bad, it happens for a reason. Everything does.
So special sem started and I went for my first 2 HP807 lectures this week. And if you have read one of my previous posts about finding a solution to those problems I had and something about reinventing myself, I would like to tell you that I have actually found it. In this module.
Wow. As I was going through the readings and notes, I thought to myself, "This is what I need right now". I am so thankful for this. And as I looked back at the time when I was praying so hard to get the Business Finance module for this special sem but eventually got this instead, I now know that it's fated. Heaven's trying to help me! Haha I sound so religious. Anyway, this module is really, really useful. It helps me un-confuse (no such word, I know) myself and find the direction suited for me to go in, how I want to.
The lecturer is really engaging and he answers a lot of those intriguing questions that I ask myself sometimes. Like why people from China are generally more competitive than Singaporeans and why students in the same cohort who have the same ability and motivation have different scores in exams. They are all due to the psychological makeup of the person. And there are many factors contributing to that psychological makeup which are very personal and individual, which actually made me realise why I can't perform well in exams and alert me to the areas where I have to target on and change. Pretty interesting stuff. Not to mention the solid and concrete hints he gives in preparation for the exam. :)
I recommend fellow NTU students to take up this module because it's really useful especially in your career development. However, this module is only offered in special semesters. And the exam format is 4 (x2) essay questions. So...it's your choice. Well, there's another module by the same lecturer that's offered during term time and its content is almost the same as HP807. I think it's called "Working in the 21st Century" or something like that. The exam also consists of 4 (x2) essays.
Right, I guess I've said a lot so I think I should get on with my assignment. But before that, Michael Lynche got booted off this week!!! And the duet by Lee and Crystal was the performance of the season. Fantasia, Daughtry and Bon Jovi are performing on the results show if you're gonna watch it tonight. Lee and Crystal for the Finals!!!

BAM.
Finally went back to Vivo's GV to catch "Iron Man 2" with Jason. Awesome action but like "Clash Of The Titans", the ending was too abrupt. Whiplash was literally whipped in less than 10 seconds. And I still think Scarlett Johansson wasn't compatible to play Black Widow.
Rating: 4/5
Did pretty much nothing today except guitaring, working out, and cooking dinner. School starts next Tuesday. Bleagh.
Aaron Kelly's turn to get booted out!!! I hope it's Michael Lynche next week.

Less Talk...
...More action.
And so I've started carrying out all my planned activities.
Trying to play guitar chords more smoothly needs a lil' more practice though. Ran 5 rounds this morning which I thought wasn't that bad since I've not run for eons. Plus I cooked today! :D
Lemme tell you, cooking isn't an easy feat. Lotsa steps to carry out and all, with preparation taking up most of the time. I swear the fish slices I cut were not very nicely shaped. And then there's the overcoming of the fear of those annoying oil splatters when you're frying stuff. My right foot got hit just now.
Still, cooking is definitely enjoyable. I really am determined to learn how to cook. Not just simple stuff like frying sunny side-ups, but more complicated ones as well. Once I'm accustomed to it, I'll start whipping up some Western and Italian delights. Mmm...
I can't believe I feel busy even during the hols. This plan of mine really makes me spend the hols more meaningfully! :)
Meanwhile, look out for "Kitchen Escapade Episode 2"! LOLOL.

Undo It
Ok here's the lowdown: Maths and BioChem were terrible. They're not tough, but I just couldn't seem to perform. It's like there's a barrier in front of me that I couldn't break through. Sadness to the power of infinity. Film elective started out so excellent that I thought I was finally gonna score for a paper, but when I reached the 2nd essay question, I was stuck. Didn't know what to write. Just scribbled some crap and moved on the last question which was supposed to be easiest question, but apparently I didn't have enough time to finish writing what I wanted to. My hand was literally trembling and sore from the high speed writing that I thought it was gonna come off.
Sigh.
I really don't know what to do. Everyone seems to be improving except me. Moving stagnantly. What's wrong with me? I'm confused. Science isn't for me? Too late Gary. And Arts isn't really for you too...
Help. I can't afford to let this happen again. Year 2 isn't child's play. But how do I break through that invisible barrier?
Think, Gary. Think. You have 4 months to think. To reflect. To find a solution. You can do it. You probably just need a little break from everything else. To find yourself again.
I sure hope so.
Special sem starts from 11th May. I do wish that I can get an A for this elective to pull up my cGPA. Give me your blessings. And luck.
First day of the holidays was cool. Had an awesome night's sleep and just chilled the day at home. Planning stuff I wanna do during this 4 months. Ok here's a temporary to-do list:
1. Master playing the guitar
2. Catch all my favourite movies coming out this summer
3. Have more exercise
4. Meet up with friends
5. Learn how to cook from my Mom
6. Get a temp job after special sem
7. Reinvent myself
I guess that's about it for now. Haha. And I hope that I can accomplish all these within 4 months.
Anyway, SHOCKER elimination on Idol!!! Siobhan went home this past week.
Till next post then. Peace Out! :)

Chemical Rush
First 2 papers were over. Physics was like any other Physics tutorial/test/anything-related stuff I've come across. I just hope that I pass it. CBC112 was traumatic. My B+ is GONE.
Last 3 papers!!! I really need Maths to be A. And my elective to maintain the A-. 3 days to recharge!
"Idol Gives Back" this past week! And Tim got booted out. Shania Twain as mentor next week! Plus Rascal Flatts and Shakira perform!
Btw, you should totally check out the new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender". Totally EPIC.

ACMs this year was so damn awesome. Taylor Swift going home empty-handed was the best thing of the whole night.
