The Beginning Of Another Decade

HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!!

Anyway, would like to share some awesome posters of movies that will be coming to theatres this year.

I'm actually quite excited for this film after watching the trailer. But I dunno if it will do well because video game adaptations don't normally succeed...

I know everyone's hyped for War Machine in this coming sequel, but I think Whiplash is also damn cool!!! Can't wait for this.

This is the film that really wowed me with its teaser trailer. It's so futuristic and Matrix-esque. But it's gonna be a long wait since it's only coming to theatres in December. :(

And of course "Alice In Wonderland". Who can resist a Tim Burton film? Plus a stellar cast which includes Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway.

Funny how these 4 movies all fall under Disney (Yes, Marvel was bought over by Disney if you didn't know)... Well besides them, there's also "Clash Of The Titans":

This film is far too badass to pass. With giant scorpions, Medusa and the OMG-sized Kraken, nobody should give this a miss.

Well besides these, there's also "Robin Hood", "Shrek Forever After", "Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows", "Kick-Ass", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "Jonah Hex", "Toy Story 3", "The Last Airbender", "Salt", "The Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" and "Gulliver's Travels". I just hope that I can find the time to catch all of them.

Let A New Chapter Unfold

So the exam results were out... I was actually aiming for a GPA of 3.5, but I scored higher than that. Hence, I'm HAPPY!!! :D

Although I hoped for at least 1 A but didn't get any, I'm still thankful. I just need to pull it up a little to reach my ideal 3.8 and maintain it so that I can go for my exchange programme overseas.

Well, all I gotta say now is, WATCH YOUR BACK. BECAUSE GARY'S GONNA COME HARD NEXT SEM!!!

Till then, here's Gary, signing off.

INSANITY 2 pics

A few work-in-progress screenies for the new installment of the series.

Still require a bit of touching-up (ooh matron!) before they can be used for the game.

Forensic Science All Over Again

Caught "Sherlock Holmes" yesterday and it was so damn awesome!!! Great movie to end the year with. Story was nice, characters were portrayed fantastically and the soundtrack was fitting and excellent (Kudos to Hans Zimmer). I didn't know Guy Ritchie was such a good director! Downey Jr. and Law sure had great chemistry together. Some parts of the film reminded me of the forensic science module though. But it helped to actually have some background knowledge about time of death, putrefaction etc. Haha.

Rating: 5/5

East Ocean Has No Hidden Gems

Brought my Mom and Sis to East Ocean @ Shaw Centre for my Mom's birthday treat. We had dim sum there. And were we disappointed in the food's quality.

We actually had high expectations because it wasn't our first time there, but little did we realise that the food changed for the worse.

Egg tarts were a tad too sweet, Bamboo Clams were tough, Dumpling Soup didn't taste good etc etc.

But I gotta commend on their excellent service. Foodwise, Crystal Jade beats it hands-down.

The Element Of Boredom

I seriously can't wait to get back to school. Honestly. I've had enough rest, really.

I'm the kinda person who can't laze around and do nothing all day. School makes my life more meaningful, even if it means mugging like crazy and struggling through tutorials.

Come next hols, the especially long 4-month hols, I'm gonna look for a job. If you want me to just slack through them, I'd rather die.

Nice car there.

Burger Delight

Finally tried the Parmesan Chicken Sandwich today. Nice burger, but the marinara sauce kinda masked everything else. I couldn't even taste the chicken. Haha. Cheese was not too empowering so it was good. And as usual, Carl's Jr. fries takes the crown from all other fast-food brands.

The Verdict

Haircut wasn't that bad... I actually signed up as a member. Haha.

Feeling guilty from spending on clothes today... But I couldn't help it. :(

And the worst was that I received my recall letter. Well, I kinda expected it to arrive this month. Anyway, I'm gonna defer it since it's a school day.

Carl's Jr tomorrow!!! Can't wait to devour the new burger they have. :)

Snip Snip

I'm gonna try out Chapter 2 for a haircut tomorrow. It'll be my first time there. Cross my fingers!!

Horrible.

190 was really horrible today. I mean the bus service. For goodness sake increase your bus frequency during the school-holiday period!!! I waited for an hour before I could actually get on a bus. ONE BLOODY HOUR.

Singapore's population too low??! Who the hell are you kidding?

THE INSANITY 2

Frickin' Tekken 6 online is sucking up a loooot of my time. EVILKRIS_1977 if you see me on there. Playing as Eddy I'm currently 126th (W 906 L 503) in the world online battle rankings, not bad for a dude some might say is past his best gaming years! Come on all ye challengers!

Er.. and for anyone interested in my work:
'THE INSANITY II' is in the works, I'll have some snapshots up on the blog sometime later in the week. I've examined a lot of feedback from players of the original and decided to make a few altercations to the in-game mechanics. The battle system is kaput- some folks said it was 'original' but not very enjoyable and *shockingly* actually killed the games suspense.
Replacing that will be more action QTE-esque cutscenes and subgames, though none as tricky as 'The Machine'- which seemed overly challenging and clearly pissed off a lot of players.
Picture a mouse-mashing scene that will require you to crawl through a vent with one of the vivisects in hot pursuit, get caught and there will be a nasty, delectable death to come. The protagonist in this one is much more apparent- I've already designed the 3d mesh and you will see his appearance throughout the game.

The game will continue the tradition of ambushing any quiet moments where the player thinks it's safe to have a break. Also, in some cases you'll die by walking into the wrong place, using the wrong item or lingering too long, you'll need to think carefully and keep your wits about you at all times. Also, the puzzles will be trickier and more 'intellectual'. The blood and gore are all there but the story is the main chiller.
Originally I entertained that the game would take place in a lighthouse. This seemed like a good idea but I realised it would be impractical for storytelling purposes.
So, where is it being set now? An abandoned asylum..

More later...

New Chapter. Again.

So I have moved back to Blogger. Yea and I can't believe it myself either. But anyway, LiveBlog on Facebook was a failure. Hence I'm back to traditional blogging.

It's been eons since I last updated about my life (like who the hell cares anyway), so here it is.

Semester 1 came and left in the blink of an eye. Exams were done, and I am now currently trying to find ways to pass the huge amount of spare time that I have during this term break (while waiting for the ill-fated results and atrocious GPA to pop up on my screen on Dec 30th). Well obviously I have yet to make a breakthrough.

Honestly, I felt that 2009 flew by much faster than I thought. I recalled how I was still serving my NS in January, then ORD-ed in Feb, endured a no-brainer job for 5 months, mugged for the first time in 3 years, sat through 13 weeks of tutorials, lectures and lab sessions, followed by a grueling 2-week exam. And POOF!!! I'm now in the middle of December. Isn't it amazing?? Wow.

So the 13-week thing is gonna happen in a few weeks' time. Until then, allow me to slack like a couch potato.

I really wanna watch a movie but there isn't anything nice out right now. And I am not catching Avatar. It has failed to attract me. James Cameron will not top Titanic with this.
